About the Mudgee Region
Mudgee is located on the Central Tablelands of NSW and is part of the "Explorer Country" Region. The name Mudgee is taken from the Aboriginal word meaning, "Nest in the Hills". Situated in the Great Dividing Range of New South Wales, this vibrant wine growing region boasts over 4500 hectares of grapes.

The country is picturesque and undulating, surrounded by forested hills and lush vineyards. The region has reliable summer weather with cool nights which make for longer and slower ripening than other areas.
The rich volcanic soils with quartz produce wines of great depth and character.
Mudgee is 260 kms from Sydney. The population of the area is 18,500 and covers 6500 square kilometres.
