Huon Hooke rates our 2010 Reserve Riesling as the Top Aussie White:
"This is concentrated and powerful, yet finely balanced. It's already quite complex for a wine that's so young; rich in the mouth and with a tickle of sweetness taking it into the off-dry category. Drink now to 10 years. Brilliant stuff. 95/100."
From the James Halliday Newsletter January 18:
Robert Stein Vineyard Reserve Mudgee Riesling 2010
Light straw-green; classic lime/citrus/mineral aromas, then a very long and tightly focused palate, with a dry but flavoursome finish, the continental climate plus 35-year-old vines work well in tandem, the potential fully realised by Jacob Stein. Screwcap.

Vintage Conditions:
2010 was a great year for growing grapes in Mudgee. A dry Summer and cool Autumn nights provided perfect ripening for all white varieties. This Riesling was harvested on 6th February 2010.
Winemaking:
The grapes were hand selected in the early morning to retain freshness and flavour. Gentle whole bunch pressing occurred, and fermentation was in stainless steel. Fermentation was slow and cool and stopped at 6 grams Residual sugar in order to obtain good acid/sugar balance. A minimalist approach was taken in the winery to allow the natural and true flavours of our vineyard to express itself.
Tasting Notes:
This Single Vineyard Reserve Riesling was handpicked from our 32 year old, high altitude vineyard. Perfect conditions enabled us to reach the benchmark of quality yet again. Typically Robert Stein in style with aromas of Lime juice and citrus, this classic Riesling has great palate richness and complexity, with a dry, crisp and racy finish.
