Robert Stein make a wide variety of sweet, dry and aromatic white wines, all grown 100% on our 530m elevated sloping site in Mudgee.
Semillon, Chardonnay Riesling are placed immediately in the press for extraction of juice and removal from skins. The whites are fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel vats. The chardonnay is whole bunch pressed and wild and cultured yeast fermentation is in new and old French oak barriques. The use of French oak helps to impart flavour and gives an added dimension and character to the wine.
Jacobs particular passion for Riesling started in Germany where he was immersed in some of the best Rieslings of the world. Jacob has worked in Germany for three wineries, most notable for Wittmann Weingut. However Jacob still believes Mudgee has the ability to grow super premium Riesling because of the cool summer nights and high altitude vineyards.
