Mudgee Wine Festival - Sept 12 to Oct 4September is Wine Festival Time in Mudgee and there is a packed calendar of events, start planning your trip today so you can take full advantage of the festival in 2009. We have a few functions on at the winery, with lunch every weekend.

Sunday 4th October -10.30am to Noon - $55 per personINSIDE WINE“Inside Wine” at Robert Stein Winery will take guests on a guided tour of their own senses, led by the resident winemaker and a local sommelier.
Awaken your senses to the tastes and smells of fine wine and learn to appreciate what separates the great wines from the good. Third Generation BeginsJanuary 2009 marked the exciting beginning of the third generation at the Robert Stein Winery. Robert ‘Bob’ Steins Grandson, Jacob, has returned to Mudgee to become the family winemaker. Andrew Stein said it is great having Jacob return and implement the experience he has had in the industry. Jacob completed his Viticulture and Winemaking Degree in 2005, and has been a travelling winemaker for the past 4 years.
Jacob has managed to fit 5 destinations into his travels, following the Grape Harvest from Southern Hemisphere to Northern Hemisphere. Starting in Pyrenees Victoria, then to Germany in the Rheingau and Rheinhessen regions making great Riesling, also Canada, Italy, Margaret River for Ultra Premium Moss Wood Winery in 2008.

2009 Robert Stein RieslingGold and Trophy for best 2009 Riesling at Winewise Small Vignerons Wine Show, judging panel included James Halliday.
Gold and Trophy at Cowra National Wine Show for Best Riesling.
This Riesling is fresh and youthful with a classical structure, lime juice flavours and a crisp and racy acidity.
Ordering details...2007 Robert Stein SangioveseA wine that is in typical Sangiovese style showing cherry and savoury characters on the nose. The palate is medium bodied with savoury fruit characters and fine grain tannins to finish. A great wine to drink with Tomato and herb based pizzas and Veal Saltimboca.
Ordering details...2008 Robert Stein Semillon Sauvignon BlancPale yellow with green hues and showing lifted grassy, passionfruit and citrus characters on the nose. The palate is fresh and vibrant with citrus and tropical fruit characters and crisp acidity to finish. A lively and fruit driven wine that demonstrates the synergy between these two varieties.
